Finally time for a blog! I've been dismissing my writing recently in my pursuit of becoming the worst salesman of all time. That is going well as I have come nowhere close to making a sale in my time at Aflac. I should have trusted my first instincts and stayed away but as always hindsight is 20/20.
Exciting things going on tonight as I am speaking to the Burncoat High School Honors Society. Ten years later and I still can't escape the world of BHS. This is the first time I've ever been nervous speaking publicly, but all I have to do is be slightly more interesting then the school committee types that usually do this. I will try to recap the event in writing tomorrow as it promises to be interesting.
Not surprised at all that Avengers broke all the records at the box office this weekend. It was by far the funniest of all the comic book movies and the best usage of the "Hulk." I was little disappointed they gave all the best lines to Robert Downey Jr's "Iron Man" but I suppose it makes sense as he is the most talented actor of the group. Here's a great idea for a movie show the group that rebuilds New York every time a superhero destroys it. Those are truly talented people as they must have replicated the city 500 times by now. I wonder if the Avengers have the power to build things at super speed or do this just take off and live it to someone else.
I had a fun sports weekend going to the Celtics game on Friday and Red Sox on Sunday. I'll let you guess which one was better. I had much better company on Friday and at no point wanted to poke my eyes out during the game. The Red Sox are dead to me this season they are boring to watch and hard to cheer for. Bobby Valentine has been a disaster and cannot be fired fast enough. I would actually welcome a rebuilding year watching a bunch of young players play hard.
Back to the Celtics after losing Game 1 and have Rondo suspended for Game 2 everything has turned in their favor. Paul Pierce is playing at an elite level and Rondo is the best point guard left in the playoffs. The draw has really worked out for them too as injuries to the Bulls has left the 8th seeded Sixers as their likely second round opponent. All of a sudden a team left for dead at mid-season is likely to advance to the Conference Finals and is the only real threat to Miami's title chances.
With that I will sign off and be back tomorrow. It was nice to knock the rust off of writing and I promise to be back on a frequent basis.
